Welcome to the PHERN digital archive!
I am a multi-media artist born and raised on the island of Skopelos, Greece. Yet I hail from all over the place: from the busy streets of Istanbul to the artisan psyche of Prague and the coal mines of Ostrava. This ethnic tapestry grounds my practice in a world imagined without borders—geographical or otherwise—where people and knowledge are free to roam.
Moving between painting, writing, gardening, foraging, and community building, I create small spaces to question food sovereignty and the politics of noticing. I want to notice radically —and inspire others to do the same. The ground I walk on. The sea Ibathe in. The creatures I share it with.
Animals and folk motifs are central to my work, exploring how we mirror ourselves in our non-human cousins. With a background in environmental microbiology, I research how storytelling and inter-species kinship might help us navigate a climate-changed future.
